In a study of 163 ninth-grade students, the Self Appraisal subtest of the Career Maturity Inventory Competence Test was found to be related to appropriateness of career choices of female adolescents but not male adolescents. Significant gender differences were not found on the Self Appraisal subtest or the measure of appropriate-ness of career choices.
