Abstract
The relationship of each of three selected predictors (a) self-reported confidence in knowledge of research competencies, (b) importance attached to them, and (c) attitude toward educational research to a non-traditional criterion measure was estimated as well as the psychometric characteristics of the non-traditional criterion. The criterion variable involved quantity and quality of research activities performed by the participants. The program participants were individually provided with guidance by experienced educational researchers. There was no statistically significant correlation between any one of the predictors and the criterion measure. However, the non-traditional criterion exhibited characteristics that might be judged as desirable.
