MHA (multiple hierarchical analysis), a general Guttman Scaling Algorithm (MHA), is briefly discussed. The MHA algorithm is highly transportable with minimum limitations on number of variables and no limitations on the number of observations. Both confirmatory and exploratory analyses can be performed with the algorithm.
