This study tests the degree of factor invariance and factor structure replicability of the Family Environment Interview Schedule. Two samples of families from two different cities were included in the study. Four interpretable factors were derived corresponding to educational/occupational expectations, language stimulation, reading/educational activities, and reinforcement of expectations. Evidence suggests that the four factor solution was invariant across both samples with an identical factor structure.
