Abstract
Gullickson and Hopkins (1976) have shown that trying to take the degree of restriction of range into account in testing the hypothesis that p = 0, entails unacceptable risks of incorrect inferences. It is argued that a better alternative is to disregard the restriction of range and to make use of the common t-statistics proposed by regression theory.
