Abstract
The present investigation was initiated to determine the degree of relationship between measures of the respective constructs of ego strength and dogmatism. The instruments employed in the investigation were Barron's Ego Strength Scale and Rokeach's Dogmatism Scale. The subjects utilized in the study were 53 (25 males, 28 females) undergraduate students from an Adolescent Psychology class at Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, Tennessee. It was hypothesized that a significant but inverse relationship existed between ego strength and dogmatism. A Pearson product-moment correlation between the relevant measures eventuated in a coefficient of -.42, which was significant beyond the .01 level.
