Abstract
A computer program to compare factor matrices which have at least some variables in common is described. The program calculates both the salient variable similarity index and the congruence coefficient. The PLI program compares all factors in one matrix with all factors in the other matrix. There are no limits for the number of variables or factors in either matrix. The order of variables in one matrix may be changed to match the other and variables not shared by both matrices may be deleted.
