Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to determine the intercorrelations among the Object Assembly and the Block Design Tests of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale and the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking. The subjects were 40 undergraduate students. Pearson product-moment coefficients were computed. Significant beyond the .05 level, the coefficients obtained between scores on the Block Design and scores on Verbal Originality and between scores on the Block Design and scores on Figural Elaboration were .33 and .38, respectively. The coefficients resulting between scores on Object Assembly and those on Verbal Originality and between scores on Object Assembly and those on Figural Elaboration were .40 and .60, respectively (both coefficients being significant beyond the .01 level). The correlational results of the present paper suggest that the Object Assembly and the Block Design Tests of the WAIS may reflect some sort of creative ability.
