The validity of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) was examined in relation to prediction of success of 50 Asian students who had completed master's programs in engineering, chemistry, or mathematics. A regression equation using scores from the TOEFL and Verbal section of the Graduate Record Examination was developed.
