Abstract
Twenty-seven multiply handicapped cerebral palsied children, whose mean age was three years and three months, were administered the Preschool Attainment Record, The Vineland Social Maturity Scale, and the Gesell Developmental Schedules. Significant correlation coefficients were obtained among the scores on the three tests. As far as can be determined, this study which represents the first one presenting concurrent validity data on the Preschool Attainment Record suggests that the Preschool Attainment Record is a valid measure of Doll's (1953) social maturity construct. Furthermore, when used with the neurologically impaired, the Preschool Attainment Record affords a useful alternative to the Vineland Scale.
