Abstract
This was a validity study on the SRA test of general ability. The subjects were 289 pupils, grades 1-6. The criteria were teachers ratings. The obtained validity coefficient varied from a low of .42 for grade 3 to a high of .61 for grade 4. Smaller criterion standard deviations for grades 1-3 should be considered in interpreting the relatively lower validity coefficients for these three lower grades.
