The present study evolved from the rising controversy concerning the validity of evaluation of bilingual pupils in special education classes. This study utilized random groups of 50 Mexican American and 50 Navajo students enrolled in special education classes throughout Arizona. Six test administrators were used. For the combined sample significance at the .01 level was found in correlation coefficients between subtests of the HNTLA and those of the WISC Performance Scale.
