Based on hierarchical regression analysis of National Education Longitudinal Study of 1988 (NELS:88) data, achievement effects of traditional and restructuring characteristics and practices are examined across lines of school urbanicity. Although some positive effects are linked to restructuring across all schools, urban students appear to also benefit from more traditional characteristics and practices.
