Abstract
Reporting on six investigations into the prediction of the administrative behavior of elementary school principals, the author discusses statistical predictions, clinical predictions, and predictions from in-basket per formance. The provocative question "Whither?" asks where we go from here in the study of predicting administrative behavior as an alternative to reliance on whatever "blend of horoscopy, physiognomy, and rhabdomancy we happen to employ." The author is Professor of Educational Administration, University of Texas.
