Abstract
In recent months the authors of the following article have been as sembling extensive information about "collective bargaining" proce dures prevailing in American school districts. The timeliness of their investigations prompted the editors to invite the authors to summarize their findings for this issue of the Quarterly. Mr. Perry and Mr. Wildman are Research Associates in the Industrial Relations Center at The University of Chicago and are directing the Study of Collective Action by Public School Teachers.
