Abstract
In this editorial "traditionalists" is used with the special denotation of those whose educational training and viewpoint are cast basically in terms of the classroom or attendance unit or local school system. New comers, then, is used generally but with special emphasis on those ap pearing in state and federal education departments and offices whose background differs from customary teacher education programs.
