Abstract
In his reaction to Neal Gross and Robert E. Herriott, Staff Leadership in Public Schools: A Sociological Inquiry (New York: John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 1965), Professor Erickson questions the veridicality of measurement procedures used, criticizes the oversimplified conceptual scheme em ployed, and highlights an emphasis on "obvious" interpretations. Mr. Erickson is assistant professor of education and a staff member of the Midwest Administration Center at the University of Chicago.
