Abstract
A factor analytic study of the Behavior Problem Checklist was conducted on 259 mildly and moderately retarded adolescents and 306 non-handicapped adolescents. After the checklist was completed by the pupil's teacher, a separate factor analysis was conducted for each of the two populations using a non-iteration SPSS program with varimax rotation. Loadings of .30 or greater were used as the criterion for inclusion in factors; there had to be at least 5 items to constitute a factor. The results of these analyses and the possible implications of the data are discussed.
