Two mentally retarded individuals, one with echolalic verbal behavior and one whose verbal behavior was frequently inappropriate to the environmental context, were trained to verbally label pictures of animals and letters. Two training conditions were compared: one using a single trainer and the other using dual trainers. Results for both acquisition and pre-/posttraining favored the dual trainers condition.
