Teachers’ perceptions of teacher aide roles and responsibilities were investigated. The Carolina Teacher/Teacher Aide Roles and Responsibilities Scale was administered to 109 teachers. Teachers perceived teacher aides as being primarily responsible for housekeeping and child management tasks. Teacher aides were seen as having less responsibility for administration, supervision, and reporting to parents. Implications for the evaluation and training of teacher/teacher aide teams are suggested.
