A practicum is proposed for preparing teachers of the mentally retarded. The practicum is designed to provide students-in-training with experiences in assuming a wide variety of teaching roles and tasks, the opportunity to experiment, tasks sequenced according to their learning needs, and an integration of practicum experiences with methods and curriculum study.
