Abstract
This study attempted to predict teacher effectiveness through the use of scales purported to measure the effects of the personality variables of warmth, empathy, and genuineness of teachers by the achievement of their students. Twenty teachers and 60 students were included in the study. It was found that the scales may identify the teachers as measuring high or low in the personality variables, but, on the basis of this study there was no significant difference in pupil gain. The instruments were investigated for validity and reliability. Reliability was adequate for research purposes but validity was questionable.
