Abstract
Editor's comment: Two camping programs for retarded children are described, one program developed by a school system, the other by a large residential institution. In both cases this was a first experience in providing camping for the retarded, and the process of developing programs and facilities is described with suggestions for improvement included. Other groups interested in providing or fostering camping opportunities for children who would not otherwise have such an experience may gain ideas and valuable tips from the programs described here.
