Abstract
The primary objective of this study is to suggest reading materials and a teaching methodology for the study of politics and development in Africa. The aim of the article stems from the author's conviction that an understanding of the interplay of politics and economics in Africa is fundamental to the understanding of the regions' development predicaments. Teachers and students of international development, history, anthropology, politics, and economics with an interest in African studies will find this study an invaluable source of reference.
