Abstract
"Prediction tables" may be defined as any compilation of statistics on the postrelease behavior of offenders who are dif ferentiated on the basis of prior information or judgment. These tables vary greatly in complexity, but all can indicate to judges and parole boards the prognostic value of some presentence or prerelease case information or evaluation.
