Abstract
The inevitability of role transformations in adulthood — transformations that often involve crisis, conflict, and confusion — frame the case for adult guidance. To facilitate these changes and help clients regain a sense of control over their lives, counselors need to understand the dynamics of the decision-making process: they need to be aware of the salient issues of adulthood: and they need to confront their own age bias.
