Abstract
The International Institute for Quality and Ethics in Service and Tourism (IIQEST), a project of Stephen S.J. Hall, cosponsored (with Group Accor) its first student "Ethics in Hospitality" essay contest in 1992. A judging panel comprising Gilles Honegger of Group Accor, former MHM CEO Bob James, and Quarterly editor Glenn Withiam judged two dozen essays. The following piece, by Cornell M.P.S. degree holder Melanie Kamamis, was the first-place essay.—
