Abstract
This chapter is an excerpt of a forthcoming book, Management Principles and Practices, by Herbert K. Witzky, to be published in early 1972 by Prentice-Hall. Mr. Witzky instructs courses in managerial analysis, human relations, and management development in the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University. Two books by Mr. Witzky will appear earlier: Managerial Analysis and Control, published by Ahrens in November 1969 and Your Career in the Wonder ful World of Hotels and Motels, to be published in May 1970 by Dodd-Mead.
