Abstract
A comprehensive tourist and hotel develop ment program can become the most significant factor in the economic growth of developing countries. It is the purpose of this article to dem onstrate this principle, to describe the basic problems of international hotel development and to recommend certain steps which can be taken by host governments and national and interna tional credit institutions to advance hotel devel opment in the developing countries concerned. Finally, the function of international hotel com panies will be described.
