Abstract
Petersen, N. The Scandilux Experiment: Towards a Transnational Social Democratic Security Perspective? Cooperation and Conflict, XX, 1985, 1-22.
Scandilux is a new and little known security policy forum for the Social Democratic parties in Northern Europe which is having a significant influence on the policies of the member parties. This article, which is based on interviews with participants, traces the background of Scandilux and analyses its main characteristics as a forum for exchange of information, discussion of policy alternatives, and for policy-formulation. As a special case, Scandilux discussions over the INF issue are analysed with specific reference to their impact on the policy of the Danish Social Democratic party. Finally the future prospects of Scandilux are discussed.
