Abstract
A very much used and discussed model of international transaction flows by Karl W. Deutsch and I. Richard Savage is combined in this article with an independent model of grouping. A report on the procedure, as presented by a computer, is given, and the results are discussed in relation to the basic foundation of the transaction flows model. This evalutation of the original model points to several suggestions on its further use. In the last section the theoretical relationship between the concepts of transaction and cooperation is discussed, and conditions for further consideration of the concepts are presented.
The empirical data on the analysis concern the transactional relationships of the African continent.
