A 14-month old boy presented to the hospital having had a convulsion. Initial work-up was essentially negative except for the presence of a temperature of 40 C. On the second hospital day, the patient began to have diarrhea and Campylobacterjejuni was isolated. This case illustrates that Campylobacter infection may be associated with febrile convulsions, and that these may precede the diarrheal phase of the illness.
