Abstract
This study was carried out with 50 asthmatic children to evaluate the speed of action of Sus-Phrine,‡ which is epinephrine in a concentration of 1: 200, of which approximately 20 per cent is in solution for an immediate effect with the remainder in suspension for sustained action. The data indicated that Sus-Phrine is comparable to aqueous epinephrine in the rapidity of its bron chodilating effect. Because of its well-established prolonged action, this may be the drug of choice for the initial injection of epinephrine in acute asthma.
