Abstract
New parents find themselves devoting a large share of their time to preparation of milk mixtures and feeding of their infant. This subject has probably received more attention in the medical literature than any other aspect of infant care, especially in years gone by. Most of the studies have dealt with determin ing the most appropriate formula for the health and growth of the infant. One evi dent conclusion is that normal, healthy, full term infants thrive on a wide variety of mix tures. Nevertheless practical considerations are still of major importance in the selection of the proper milk mixture.
While recommendations regarding the me chanics of formula preparation have hereto fore been generally uniform, recent research has suggested that practicality may also be pertinent in this area.
