This article focuses on the characterization of Enoch in the first visionary journey (1 En 17-19) and in the rewriting of this account (chapters 21-36). In particular, this article will make use of the tools provided by narrative criticism (such as « point of view » and characterization) and spatial criticism. In conclusion, the article will offer several remarks on the ideology underlying the redaction and rewriting of these texts.
