Abstract
A practical course in musculoskeletal assessment was given for occupational therapists in Toronto. The assessment which is based upon the work of Dr. James Cyriax, may help to provide a more systematic and objective approach to treatment. A comparison was drawn between the contrasting spinal pathology and back education theories of Dr. Cyriax and Dr. W.H. Fahrni. A musculoskeletal study group has been formed to further integrate these principles into a occupational therapy treatment regime and to facilitate communication between therapists working in this field.
