Abstract
Fourth year Occupational Therapy students at the University of Western Ontario are required to set up and run a group in the community. In describing the process of approaching the facility and setting up the group, this paper illustrates that Occupational Therapists can develop a position for themselves in the community. While this experience demonstrates that the community can be approached, it is necessary for Occupational Therapists to practice discretion in determining whether or not their offered services are unique.
