The quality and quantity of research in occupational therapy remains in its infancy. The following article is based on a study carried out in the spring of 1974, the objectives of which were to examine the role and function of the occupational therapist in clinical research, to identify areas in which occupational therapists have been involved in research and to examine the attitudes of registered therapists towards research.
