On the Predictive Nature of Absolute Changes

Abstract

Practitioners have often observed that it is easier to predict the absolute value of the change more accurately than predicting. the actual value. Here we give theoretical justification of the above observation using a couple of simple Autoregressive models. \Ve also show this by simulation and using our theory on real data.
