Abstract
DNA microarray technologies now make it possible to measure the expression levels of thousands of genes simultaneously during cellular differentiation over time or different cell lines. A major challenge now is to understand and explore the patterns in this massive data sets. In this article, first we give a brief description of the array technology and examine, why it is considered to be so important in post genome sequencing era. Then we review various clustering methods that have been recently used to explore the gene expression data.
