Abstract
Stochastic Models describing occupational mobility have been suggested, among others, by Bartholomew (1967) and Ginsberg (1971, 1972a). But none of the measures of mobility based on such models can be treated as a rate of occupational mobility. The present paper offers a crude rate of occupational mobility based on renewal theory and counting process. Expressions for the mean and variance of the suggested rate have been obtained.
