Summary A procedure is described for automating the analysis of inorganic phosphate in physiological media without dialysis. Sodium dodecyl sulphate is used to maintain protein solubility during the analysis. Sample analysis was measured at 60 and 90 samples an hour. The inorganic phosphate results obtained for a series of human plasma and for various internal control sera by non-dialysis and dialysis showed good agreement.
