Maxillary sinus lavage through the canine fossa was peformed on 202 patients. This procedure is relatively safe, easily learned and quickly performed, has minimal side effects and a very low percentage of failures, and is more acceptable to most patients. It should be used by otolaryngologists, at least as a useful alternative to the classical method.
