Arthritis of the laryngeal joints occurs with most of the diseases which are manifest by polyarthritis. This publication discusses an unusual extension or complication of cricoarytenoid arthritis, ulcerative necrosis of the postcricoid cervical esophagus which necessitated a total laryngectomy in a patient with advanced rheumatoid arthritis.
