Abstract
This paper introduces to otologists and pediatricians a simple device useful for inflating the Eustachian tubes and middle ear spaces. The device allows compressed air from a toy balloon to be propelled into the middle ear spaces during the act of swallowing. Its primary value is assisting in clearing the “fluid car” problem and maintaining a middle ear space in postoperative tympanoplasties.
