The deaf subjects and teachers were supplied by the Ohio School for the Deaf. The normal pupils were furnished by Dr. Virginia Saunderson of Ohio State University Demonstration School. The apparatus was supplied by the Phonetics Laboratories of Ohio State University. The funds for carrying out the investigation were made available by both the State School for the Deaf and Ohio State University's Phonetics Laboratories.
