Fletcher et al have described a single case in their article of needle localization for recurrent thyroid cancer in the paratracheal region (“Ultrasound-Guided Needle Localization of Recurrent Paratracheal Thyroid Cancer”). This is an intriguing report of a truly challenging problem recently seen in the management of paratracheal and central compartment recurrence in thyroid cancer.
