The authors report five patients with a missense mutation of the endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) gene (Glu298Asp) who have angiographically proven coronary artery disease (CAD). They compare their clinical findings and coronary arteriographic charac teristics. They conclude that these case reports show that this mutation is not solely responsible for development of CAD. Diabetes mellitus, smoking, and hyperlipidemia are other risk factors.
