Abstract
Guitarists, in general, tend to feel isolated from the larger musical community, in part because of the instrument's relatively recent acceptance into the conservatory setting. Throughout their schooling, guitarists seldom if ever get to study repertoire that is relevant to the guitar. Whether it is in a theory class or music history seminar, teachers are still reluctant to include guitar repertoire in their syllabi. These factors, including the guitarist's exclusion from the orchestra, all contribute to the feeling of being left out.
