New Resource: TeachMusic.org
A new resource created by the Music Educator Workforce Development Coalition, www.teachmusic.org is a website for your students, parents, and school counselors to learn more about being a music teacher today. Resources include the steps toward preparing to go to music school, financial aid and planning resources for parents, and video clips from current music educators. ASTA is one of the founding partners of this coalition, and we hope you find their resources useful as we work to overcome the current shortage of music teachers in our nation. Share Your Teaching Tips in the Journal
Your colleagues are always looking for practical teaching strategies. Consider writing a teaching tips article for the American String Teacher journal. Feature articles are up to 3,000 words. Teaching Tips are 1,500 words in which the author shares their experience and advice.
